ASE Cultural & Educational Foundation awards 3 PhD thesis and 14 MS thesis this year and 13/17 of the winners are from National Taiwan University and National Cheng Kung University. Po-Hao presented his work in the ESA 2018 joint conference and was awarded 2nd place in student competition. Big congratulations.

Po-Hao is going to present his work in the 2018 Electrostatics Joint Conference in Boston

The work Po-Hao is going to present is about the PQ curves of the ionic wind pumps. Ionic wind pumps are the devices that move air by the principles of electrohydrodynamics. Ionic wind pumps have no moving parts such that the noise is extremely low while the geometry can be flexible: great features required in modern thermal solutions.

Dr. Wen's US patent is online

Dr. Wen's invention has been officially patented by the US Patent and Trademark Office. This invention is a new design of the collector used in the electrostatic precipitators to suppress particle reentrainment. The idea is to collect particles in a secured space rather than on a flat surface. Check this patent out: US9808808.
